Villas Las Yucas

After reading reviews in various sites I have to say I was slightly apprehensive about staying here.. and initially I thought that my fears had materialised. We arrived at 2.45pm on Sunday afternoon, there are no signs for a reception, luckily a group by the pool showed us the way. It was locked even though it said it should be open till 3pm. (This person said I should have received an email with our Villa number & key safe code- not received anything, they hadn’t either, both parties travelled with jet2) I rang the number on the door and got through to a great lady at the partner company Son Parc. She chased up Yucas staff who arrived 20 minutes later. Very quick process, was advised that we would get a link to register all residents. Once in the Villa, I was surprised to see it was very modern, extremely spacious and clean. It gets very warm upstairs and only air con in the main bedroom, there are large ceiling fans in the other rooms but don’t cool them down significantly. The kitchens have enough items to make a light meal but nothing more than that. But that was fine by us. The pool area was okay, sunbeds are dated. Garden areas could do with a tidy up. Most of the times we used this area it was like having a private pool as no one else around. There was one afternoon where a group of teenage girls arrived from the beach, they were approached by staff and advised to move on.. I am guessing that this may be something new as the girls seemed to be puzzled by the fact they couldn’t use the pool. There is direct access from a little cove to the villas, no gates or secure access to stop people passing through the site. That was the only member of staff we saw apart from cleaners & handy man. We enjoyed the quietness and feeling of having our own place. I would just say the hotel group needs to look at signage, ensure that emails regarding access have been received.

Our experience at this accommodation has been completely disappointing. To start with, we found cockroaches inside the house, something absolutely unacceptable that calls into question any basic standard of hygiene. Furthermore, they did not give us the house we had reserved. Instead, they offered us another one located right in front of the pool, when we had expressly requested the one furthest away possible to have more privacy. Faced with our complaint, the response was that we “had to settle for it” because there was no cleaning service available to give us a similar one. A total lack of professionalism and respect for the customer. The situation is made even worse by the general maintenance: the pool cleaning is practically nonexistent, giving a feeling of total abandonment. The garden is the same or worse: there is no gardener and, according to what we were told, the only one who comes by is the one from other hotels when he has spare time. We also find the lack of security very concerning, since teenagers would sneak into the pool at night without any kind of control. As if that were not enough, after finding cockroaches we requested a thorough cleaning of the house, but they denied it to us, claiming that their priority was the people who were newly checking into the accommodation. In general, our complaints were largely ignored. In short, a very negative experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a minimum of quality, cleanliness, security, and professionalism in service.

Terrible experience, no one at the reception, calling and no one answers the phone.
