Menorca Sea Club

It needs a comprehensive renovation in all areas... the location is i- Ideal... but everything else leaves much to be desired.

At the end of February, I am booking a week with half board in an apartment at the Sea Club RV hotels in Menorca with my wife. Among the options 'standard', 'sea view', and 'partial sea view', we choose the third option, noting that we would like the first floor and not the ground floor. Upon arrival, the reception informs us that only the 'sea view' rooms are available on the first floor, so we had to pay an additional 175 euros. If I had been informed right away that it was not possible, I would have changed accommodations. At the reception, they only spoke Spanish and did not understand English. The apartment was supposed to be available by 3 PM. The keys were handed to us around 4 PM. The first impression upon entering was disastrous: a smell of fresh paint, it seemed as if the painter had just finished painting the walls, only the walls because the ceilings were partially peeling. Indeed, dust and debris were constantly falling on the bed, and I leave it to your imagination how we spent the night. In the closets, there was a terrible musty smell. Some rusty parts, the bidet faucet was leaking. As for cleanliness, I would say it was poor or completely nonexistent: towels were never replaced, the floor was never cleaned, there was a lack of toilet paper, and one day I found the bed without sheets! Shall we talk about the food? Another disaster, throughout the week the buffet always had the same things, evidently reheated, inedible. If we want to be positive, only breakfast was decent, when the machines for hot drinks did not jam. It's a shame that this establishment was given four stars. I won't add anything else.

Upon arrival, after paying a supplement for early check-in at 3 PM. At 11:00, we had to wait about two hours only to receive a room that did not match what we had booked. We paid the extra fee for a full sea view, but instead, we faced the building of the EOLO Sunset Bar. The room did not have a double bed but two single beds. The cleaning staff broke a bottle of medicine and left without even leaving a note of apology. The kitchen area was really lacking in dishware. There was no curtain on the terrace to enjoy a bit of shade. There were few sun loungers available by the pool. We will definitely return to Menorca, but not to this establishment.
