Valentin Star

This was our 4th stay at this wonderful hotel and it never disappoints! Most reviews echo how we feel about this hotel. Everything from arrival to departure from the hotel was well taken care of - reception staff always polite and helpful, cases taken up to the room and complimentary water in your fridge in the room on arrival - fridge was useful to put further drinks and snacks in to keep cool. We were half board and there was a huge variety of choice at mealtimes, served by friendly staff. Loved the complimentary nibbles and sangria/cava offered around the pool daily - such a nice touch. Entertainment staff Lydia and Andreas did a fantastic job and the volley ball was one of the highlights each day, as was the “corn hole” game played by the pool! Loved the aquafit too! The gentleman saxophonist Heinrick was absolutely awesome, he had most people moving or dancing, in and around the pool - it was brilliant! Yorch the gentleman violinista was also fantastic - I could listen all day to this! Evening entertainment was great too, a good variety to listen to each night on the terrace. Unlike a few of the reviews we could find no faults with this hotel, we didn’t have a problem with the dress code - my husband just returned to the room after our evening meal and changed into shorts, super staff, everywhere was spotless and the cleaners work so hard every day , great food, lovely location with plenty of bars, shops and restaurants and we love meeting up with others that also return each year - which we will most definitely be doing!

On the whole, a really lovely, relaxing hotel - very clean, excellent layout and exceptional staff with good-sized rooms. Two things of note: they are weirdly strict about water e.g. you’re not allowed to fill up your water bottles using the water fountain they provide at breakfast (even though you could drink as much as you want using the glasses they provide) and they also wouldn’t let my pregnant friend take her water bottle into the restaurant. I’ve never before been to a restaurant where you can’t take a bottle of water in. Seems a strange rule at any time, but particularly in such warm weather. Also, the breakfasts were good but the vegan food on offer in the evenings was shocking - the worst I’ve had in any hotel buffet before. They do clearly signpost the allergens for each dish which is useful, but very little vegan food on offer aside from basic salad and carbs. No protein! So essentially go for the relaxing venue and brilliant staff, but I wouldn’t go again as a vegan who likes to be hydrated!

Just returned after a wonderful week in the best Menorca has to offer. We have been visiting the hotel for many years and it just gets better. I won’t go into the individual areas as most of the reviews already sing their praises but I need to register my gratitude to the incredible staff. During the week the temperature was extreme but being a stubborn Brit I failed to take the basic precautions and at breakfast sitting in the sun experienced my first taste of heat exhaustion. Sorry to any fellow guests if I spoiled your breakfast but true to form the restaurant staff , in particular Rocio rushed to my aid and stayed with me keeping me cool whilst they organised for 2 chaperones to escort me back to my room. Thankfully I recovered in a couple of hours. I really can’t thank you enough for your help. I’ve always regretted that I couldn’t take my grandson as he’s underage but have now found that they have a partner hotel Valentin Son Bou so will be trying it in August, it has a lot to live up to though.
