Be careful with the price. When you speak to the owner the first time, she gives you a price, the second time she gives you the same price, and when you go to make the reservation, the price is considerably higher. He tells you he's sorry, that he was wrong, twice? But the worst part is that instead of trying to reach a consensus with the customer, the owner tells you that it's just a bunch of lentils, and that if you're not interested, you should figure it out yourself. What business sense...!!! Naturally we booked another house.

I drove to A Casa da Eira early one morning in July with the intention of hiking some of the trails that were suggested on their website. Little did I know that the page containing the descriptions of the hikes were for prospective overnight guests. Needless to say Adolfo was very surprised to see two strangers wandering into his dining room looking for information. He immediately bade us to sit while he made coffee and called for Suzanne who graciously took time out from her busy morning in between breakfast and check out time, to serve us cake and coffee. She gave us a little bit of history of the area and of the Bed and Breakfast and allowed us to keep our car parked on the property while we hiked some of the stunning trails that crisscross the property. While I cannot review the Bed and Breakfast as an overnight guest, I can attest to Suzanne and Aldolfo's hospitality and cooking. They took time out from the busiest part of the day to visit with us and served up some of the best coffee and cake we tasted during our three week tour of Spain.

We stayed here a couple of nights with another couple. On our last day we had some car troubles when we got a spiked tyre on some rubbish on the road. Couldn't drive to Santiago on the silly space saver spare. Hosts Susanne and her husband were absolutely fabulous in assisting us to get it sorted. The house is great, the village, bar and shop were absolutely unique, and the catering first class. The walks and scenery ate memorable. Can't rate this highly enough. Kev and Narelle Devlin
