Punta Vicano

Normally I would neither stay nor rate a two-star hotel in a Spanish provincial town. Nevertheless, the Hotel Punta Vicaňo in Sanxenxo was such a positive experience. The hotel across the street asked 205 EUR plus 17 EUR for the parking, in total 222 EUR for a single night, whereas this equally good located hotel asked 70 EUR including parking and breakfast. Fair enough, it is a two-star hotel, but with a nice bar and pool in the back garden. The staff is authentically nice – not professionally smiling dolls – but truly good people. The rooms are large, many with balcony’s facing the park and the location offers a less than a 3-minute walk to the beach. We do not pass through Sanxenxo every other week, bud if we did; this is the place would be the one to come back to. Greetings to the lovely women running this fine little hotel. The rating is given because the exceptional good price/quality ration – after all this is a two-star hotel.

After a very bad experience on our first night in Sanxenxo we found this hotel and it was what we were looking for. The lady on reception was extremely helpful and spent time rearranging other arrivals for the week to accommodate our family. Not only that but the price was very reasonable. the pool area was well maintained and clean and there was also a free onsite car park. The Hotel had clean tidy basic rooms with a balcony, which were fit for their purpose, it is located on the road between Pontenovo and Sanxenxo with a short walk to either area. This Hotel was a great find and the staff were only too helpful in our hour of need. thank you
