Alda Centro Salamanca Hostel

It cost us 18 euros each for one night in February (includes breakfast). We arrived at 5:30pm expecting '24 hour access' as it says on the website. First of all there wasn't even a buzzer to ring up to the hostel, and it wasn't clear if we were actually at the right place. Luckily we thought of going to 'Gud hostel' to ask at their reception for help and thankfully they had the phone number of 'Alda Centro hostel' - if it wasn't for Gud hostel we wouldn't have known how to get in, or our room number and room code! Once we finally got in there was no one on the desk. However, they made sure they were there in the morning to collect our money!! Also me and my friends were covered in bites after sleeping there for one night. The room was clean however, and a nice breakfast, nice location - just really not worth the price!!

We paid 23.27€ for a night + a "breakfast" (quite basic but ok) in mid-September. It seems a bit expensive for what it is, knowing that the dorms are not so young. To me, a night should be €17 and not more. I disliked : - the NOISE from the boulevard (I couldn't sleep well) - it was very cold at night, even with a blanket, since the window was not really functioning - the impossibility of letting things after noon (no lockers, no one at the reception...), we walked in Salamanca the whole day with our bags !!!!! That is not normal. I liked : - the mattress - the kitchen and common areas in general - the fact that it wasn't too crowded (only 29 beds offered) Last, my friend got bitten at night by some insects (stink bugs?) and it was quite impressive... Don't know if it is due to cleanliness but it is not very reassuring...

This is a budget place and feels like it. It's half way between the train station and the centre of town so the convenience is attractive. Other than that, though, the room was very disappointing as was the bathroom.
