We stayed at the Azahar Apartments for a short break from the 21st of September 2024. The holiday was problematic from the start. We arrived at Reus Airport and were able to get a taxi to the area. However, neither the taxi driver nor any of the local people could point us in the right direction, which wasn't a huge concern.
However, the communication from the provider was incredibly poor. It took us around 1hr30 minutes to find the apartments and then to find the office where we had to collect the keys. This would have been easier if we were advised that we collected the keys from an office that is around a five-minute walk. We happened to find and ask by chance to see if they knew where the apartments were.
Once the keys were collected, we were then advised that we would be required to pay a 200 euro security deposit, despite this being a shock, it was not an issue, and the deposit was paid, we were then given a leaflet, which was reviewed when we got into the apartment, which ultimately says that nothing should be left in the rooms other than clothes due to thefts, which didn't make us feel safe.
The apartments were basic and dated. However, served their purpose for a place to stay. We realised the apartment had a pool. However, due to the size of the building, the pool is overshadowed by the apartments, which is not an issue, the was nowhere to sit or lay down on due to the absence of any chairs or sunbeds.
The noise was a huge concern. We had a two-bedroom apartment one room faced onto Market Street, and the other faced internally. The noise was terrible both inside the apartments and outside. The noise in the street finished around 2-3 am. However, between 4-5 am, the road sweepers are incredibly loud, which completely disturbs our sleep.
I would not stay at the Azahar apartments again, despite a good location, the other issues we encountered have impacted our stay. The staff can be quite abrupt, with customer service not being a priority, with day staff saying the nights would sort problems and nights deflecting back to day staff.
If considering a holiday in Salou, I would recommend you avoid this apartment where possible.

We spent 5 days in these apartments on the 5th floor with very a very scenic view. The location is excellent with the beach a few minutes walk away, the train station is 1 mile away down 1 road, and plenty of shops and restaurants on it's door step. You get what you pay for and it was absolutely perfect for what me and my friends needed for our holiday. It was clean, tidy and surprisingly spacious. We were out most days from 9am til 9pm pretty much so all we needed the apartment for was sleeping and washing which both were comfortable and clean experiences. We had a very good experience and for the price we paid, it was a bargain.

The location is great for everywhere. It is an apartment block that owners hire out via an agency. Its sister block is the Zahara some 200m away. When booking be careful if you want a specific block. If you book the Zahara you may get the Azahar or visa versa. No explanation other than take it or leave it.
Inside things are basic but functional. Cleaning a bit iffy and was a little dusty. I'd go back but would prefer the Zahara as it has a better open location and a Michaelangelo underneath with an excellent coffee bar.
