In general, a 4* hotel for being a “Sol” by Meliá, but not for quality. If it were a 3* it would be the most correct category. The photos on the Meliá or Booking website do not reflect reality at all. Basically the pool area, which is the most attractive part, is quite shabby, I'm sorry, beyond the fact that at least it has a snack bar. As for the rooms, the most disappointing part, Sol level but 3*, not 4*. It is almost a shame that a 4* By Meliá hotel has a 21” “TV” that must be over 5-10 years old, which I think are no longer even manufactured; not even a basic 32” one that is more or less recent. The cleanliness of the room was quite fair. In addition, we had a bad experience at dinner on 05/02, because 1 of my children became ill both at lunch on Saturday and at that dinner (not coming down to the dining room and not making use of those 2 meals on the H/B plan) and we wanted to take 2 bananas up to him at night after we finished dinner, of course indicating it at the dining room door, and a lady did not allow it, polite but quite obtuse, and she told us that it was totally forbidden to take food out of the buffet, that in any case he should come down to eat dinner, having already told her that he was ill… 2 bananas at night… she didn't even check. We were going to file a complaint at the front desk but we preferred not to mention it because it seemed ridiculous to us. Ultimately, the only advantage the hotel may have (like several others) is its proximity to the park entrance, but I would not recommend it.

This is the fifth time we have returned! Highlighting above all the entertainment team, a 10, they made both adults and the little one enjoy themselves so much! THANK YOU! To find a fault, the issue of managing the sun loungers needs to be improved; people reserving 15 loungers at 9:30 in the morning without using them, we had an unpleasant moment. Otherwise, very attentive staff, also to say that amenities like hair shampoo and conditioner are missing, in the rest of Meliá they have them!

Rooms cleaned daily and staff very friendly and helpful. Can hire towels for pool and exchange for clean ones as often as you like. Pool seems a little small for the size of the hotel but was a bit quieter when we were there and no problems getting a sun bed. Entertainment on quite late, even for the ones aimed at kids and so if you have a pool view can be pretty noisy. Usually finished by midnight. Hotel a but farther out of Salou than I realised so about 10m walk into Salou. Not the end of the world but no on site shop or supermarket near by which was a pain. Again about a 10m walk. Biggest issue for us was the food which I can only describe as okay. Appreciate they're not just catering for the Brits and there were people there from many other countries but struggled at times to find something we liked and dishes were a bit random. Also nothing really aimed at kids although did have pasta on every day but pizza would have been good too. Breakfast was great but lunch and especially dinner was a challenge at times. Overall was okay but installing a shop in the hotel and a few more options for food would really improve this hotel in my opinion.
