Residencia San Pedro

Residencia San Pedro is located on the top of some large rocks by the sea right next to a lookout point, neighboring a reastaurant. The place is pretty busy during the day and there are no dedicated parkplaces for the hotel rooms, still we always managed to park the car. The yard / terrace is a bit elevated and offers an astounding view to the ocean. (This has a downside too - the only way to get up is a row of steep stairs so this place is not recommended for people with disabilities.) The rooms are average furnished, not state-of-the-art clean, but they are ok. Breakfast is delicious and plenty, our hostess offered a lot of flexibility serving it. (we wanted to go hiking early, it was no problem at all to find a solution to have breakfast before that). Although advertised in the booking details, the hotel offered no Wi-Fi. All in all, we enjoyed our stay.

Loved the views from the hotel. Receptionist spoke little English. The location is in the hills high above town. It’s a winding road to drive up with some very steep inclines to go up/down. The pool isn’t heated so disappointed with that as the photos look impressive. The breakfast is good but you need to eat out rest of the time.

We wanted somewhere to stay near Puerto de la Cruz which didn't have the traffic and parking nightmares of the resort. The San Pedro fitted the bill with a view looking over banana plantations to the sea crashing over rocks beyond. We found this the perfect base for our walking expeditions some of which were along the coast and easy to get to. The proprietors a German family were friendly, spoke good English and made us feel most welcome. Every morning an excellent Continental breakfast was delivered to the table outside our room. We dined at the restaurant a few times and both the menu and service was good, but biased rather towards fish. We arrived quite late on arrival and the restaurant was closing, but they managed to serve some supper of cheese & ham with wine which went down well as we hadn't eaten since arriving at the Airport in the South.
