Playa Sur Tenerife

We stopped at this hotel for one night whilst we waited for the rest of our group to arrive the next day as we were heading to the North of the island. I wasn't expecting much to be honest, but in truth, I was actually pleasantly surprised. It exceeded my expectations. It's quietly humble and doesn't boast to be anything it isn't. For the price point, this hotel actually has a lot to offer. A good location. Decent, comfortable rooms, with more amenities than you find in some 5-star hotels. A sandy beachfront on it's doorstep (a rare find in Tenerife). I honestly can't fault it and would genuinely recommend it for people on a budget who want nice tapas bars within walking distance, a sandy beach and a short transfer from Tenerife South Airport.

I booked direct at a good price, needing a one night stay near the airport and preferably not in a big tourist resort hotel. I had a single room, no. 217, exactly as shown online, clean, modern decor, small nicely fitted bathroom. Large balcony with chairs and table, not a great view but not a problem. No chair in the room but I suppose there is the option to bring in one from the balcony. Bottle of water in the fridge, a welcome drink available at the bar, a well stocked and varied breakfast, helpful staff. The room was quiet, so much so I was surprised at the number of guests in the breakfast room the follow morning. Pool area looked nice, beach towels available. A 5 minute walk along the seafront to the town, plenty of cafes and bars etc around, and the lady taxi driver told me it was OK for me to walk in and out after dark, always good to know.

The service in all areas was really great. Especially Viktoria from the breakfast service is worth highlighting. The rooms are new. However, very small and with little storage space for clothes
