A magical place in the south of Tenerife far from the tourist circuits, right on the beach and in an incredible volcanic landscape. Highly recommended

The worst experience ever. Photos on booking.com were totally different. We had a reservation for 4 nights, after 1 night we decided to left and instead we returned to the accomodation at we were before.

We stayed at Casa Bioclimaticas Iter during the last week of December 2018. The unique homes are located in an industrial park area, but that was not a concern. Since each home is unique, this review is only for the two homes our family stayed in. The homes are innovative environmental designs. My impression is that the architects were more concerned with the building”s form and not that people will live in these buildings. As an example, one home had an open “stream” crossing the living area painted the same color as the floor. Our grandchild tripped into it. No Red caution stripes to prevent this mishap. Depending on the individual, the sound of windmills will have a different effect. For me they were white noise. For my wife, they were intrusive. There is a tidal basin on the property but the path to it is steep and rocky - not easy for elderly folks to navigate. Pros: Interesting architecture Welcome bottle of wine Minor Cons: No salt or pepper shakers. Sparsely outfitted kitchens. No wash cloths. No bathroom windows or exhaust fans. Hallways did have ceiling vents. Low lighting throughout the house including low light bulbs for bathroom mirrors. Time to switch to warm color LEDs Spartan IKEA furnishings. No instructions for operating the wall oven. Major Concerns: The bedrooms did not have dressers to store clothing. There was a large closet with only one shelf at the bottom, and only a foot off the floor. We had to use the single chair in the room to rest our suitcases on. Not fun living out of a suitcase for a week. No screens. But plenty of MOSCAs and other flying things. Fortunately we were only bitten one night. It would be nice if they furnished fly swatters. The laundry only had one washing machine and one dryer. The washer required five 1 Euro coins, but it included detergent and softener. Dryer was free, but took forever to dry clothes. Laundry not open 24 hours. For a large family and a lot of clothes to wash, definitely a pain and a waste of vacation time. Last, when you make your reservation you tell them how many guests and they assign the house to you. You do NOT choose your building. We did request one floor and a large Queen bed which they did honor. If you don't like what they assign you, it will cost 100 Euros to change. OK to experience for a day or two, but much better places to stay for an extended vacation.
