Bilbao Aterpetxea Hostel

There were 5 of us in a room, it doesn't have any type of ventilation or air conditioning so we had to keep the window open the whole time, which would be fine if it weren't for the fact that an 8-lane highway passes in front and the noise is unbearable, it's as if a road were passing through your head the whhhhole time. It is very expensive for the service they provide and the location it has and the breakfast is horrible. I do not recommend it at all, it has not been pleasant to stop here.

I stayed at this hotel during a study tour with my class and my experience was totally unsatisfactory. The buffet food left much to be desired: the dishes were in bad shape, and things like custard and yogurt expired the next day. Besides, we found bugs on the beds, which is unacceptable. The most serious thing was that outsiders entered our room while we were away, and there were four students; they stole a total of approximately 1,000 € among all our belongings. The hotel did not offer any facilities to solve the problem, as they do not have cameras in the corridors and the door was clearly forced. Overall, I am very unhappy with the experience. I do not recommend this hotel under any circumstances until the safety, cleanliness and quality of its food improve.

On 9.8.25 I had to share a room with a comrade clearly under the influence of alcohol and drugs, who urinated in a bin in front of me and showed aggressive behavior. The hostel only removed the bin, left the man in the room and offered me to leave – at 23:00, with no alternative. I spent the night in a chair. Totally unacceptable safety and hygiene standards.
