Holiday Inn Express Bilbao

Booked this hotel and checked in around midnight for a brief stay before a 6 AM flight. Upon getting into bed, all of our bedding reeked strongly of mildew, making it difficult to get proper rest. Because we checked in late and the hotel was full, getting a different room was impossible at that hour. Hotel management has acknowledged the issues but points the finger at their laundry provider and refuses to issue a financial refund. Completely unacceptable sanitary standards and customer service for an IHG property. Avoid.

I stayed overnight in this hotel before meeting up with the rest of my family who had been walking the Pintos de Europa. Location to airport was great with a free shuttle bus. As a Holiday Inn member I was able to gain early access to my room which was appreciated after an early morning flight. The room was very comfortable, great bathroom and was very clean. Bed was very comfortable and room was very quiet. Dinner was okay but sadly no pudding was available. The buffet breakfast in the morning was great with plenty of choice. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The value for money is not enough, very expensive for the service offered. All mediocre and the friendliness of the staff very improveable. Adapted room 301 assigned without warning whose bathroom floods when using the shower and leaves it impracticable. Eternal check in and check out at 6:00 am with no one at reception. Food offer in the cafeteria very limited
