Imagine a hotel planted in the Gaza Strip. The only thing missing here would be the bombings. The hotel is across the street from a trucking depot operating 24 hours a day. The surrounding area is just wasteland, broken concrete, weeds and abandoned vehicles. The entertainment at night is watching drug deals in the vacant lot out back. Neither the restaurant nor the bar are open and have not been for a few years. A cab driver, (born and raised in Sestao), recommended we go into the Centro of Bilbao to eat because it is dangerous to walk near the hotel. The rooms are reasonable; clean and well appointed. There is secure parking in the basement. Obviously a necessity in this part of town.
