This is by far the WORST HOTEL AND STAFF I have ever experienced. We have just had an extremely unpleasant experience, and I would like to share it. When we checked out, the receptionist told us they needed to inspect the room. We said that was absolutely fine. About a minute later, they came back claiming that the hairdryer bag was missing. We were completely shocked because the bag had been inside the wardrobe together with the hairdryer. After several minutes of them accusing us and us repeatedly denying any responsibility, we decided to open all of our backpacks and suitcases in front of them. They could clearly see that we did not have the bag, yet they still insisted that it was missing from the room and demanded that we pay 5,000 LKR (around €13). We flatly refused because it was obvious what they were trying to do. We asked them to call the police, but they refused. Meanwhile, our driver and our friends had already been waiting outside the hotel in the van for 30 minutes so that we could continue our holiday to Sigiriya. Not wanting to delay our departure any further, and knowing that waiting for the tourist police could easily have cost us another two hours, I finally paid the 5,000 LKR. Before leaving, I told them that they were extremely unpleasant and incredibly rude, and that this is simply not the way to treat guests or tourists. We are convinced that a member of the staff removed the bag so they could later charge us for it. We ended up paying because, in the end, they had our credit card details. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. WE BELIEVE THEY MAY BE SCAMMING THEIR GUESTS. I have travelled extensively throughout Asia, although this is my first time in Sri Lanka, and I have never experienced anything like this anywhere else. I sincerely hope this review helps other travellers avoid going through such an awful experience. ——————- Es el PEOR HOTEL Y STAFF que nunca he conocido. Acabamos de tener una experiencia súper desagradable, os comento: En el momento de hacer el check out nos dicen que tienen que chequear la habitación a lo que respondemos que sin ningún problema. Al minuto nos dicen que falta la bolsa del secador de pelo a lo que respondemos con asombro que la bolsa estaba junto al secador dentro del armario. Después de un rifi-rafe de acusaciones por su parte y negación por la nuestra. Decidimos abrir nuestras mochilas y maletas delante de ellos. Ven que no tenemos la bolsa pero aún así insisten que la bolsa no está en la habitación y que tenemos que pagar 5.000 LKR (unos 13€).Nos negamos en rotundo porque vemos claramente la jugada que quieren hacer y les pedimos que llamen a la policía algo que se niegan a hacer. El driver y nuestros amigos llevaban esperando en la puerta del hotel dentro de la van 30 minutos para continuar nuestras vacaciones con destino Seguiriya. Para no demorar más la salida y viendo que podíamos perder dos horas si venía la policía turística, he pagado los 5.000 LKR, antes de irme les he dicho que era un personal muy desagradable y muy muy mal educados ya que así no podían tratar a los clientes/turistas. Estamos seguras que la bolsa la han cogido ellos para cobrarnos una multa después. Hemos pagado porque al final tienen los datos de la tarjeta bancaria. NO VAYÁIS A ESTE HOTEL PORQUE PRESUNTAMENTE ESTAFAN AL CLIENTE. Estoy acostumbrada a viajar por Asia aunque es mi primera vez en Sri Lanka y jamás me había pasado algo parecido en ningún otro lugar. Espero ayudar con esta reseña para nadie pase por esta mala experiencia.

It is a hotel that is divided into two blocks linked by a walkway. The rooms and bathroom are unbeatable with all services available. The staff was very helpful. The best the infinity pool with beautiful views. The sun loungers and umbrellas as well as the towels and bar on the terrace are excellent. The restaurant in the basement has an excellent gastronomic proposal; the breakfasts are very complete. The area is safe as there are several major chain hotels.

The food and drink I ordered (pasta arrabiata with cola) did not taste off and seemed ok. But later when I went home I got a stomach ache. The next day flu like symptoms and I was not able to eat until the evening. Clearly something was not right with the food.
