Beautiful small complex with railway connection Service very good Janaka tries to fulfill all wishes. The food in the restaurant is varied and delicious The beach is just a minute away and the city is less than 5 minutes away or you take the Hotel TukTuk.

I had realised on the train that I had booked the wrong nights, so when we arrived in Bentota we didn’t have a place to stay. We quite literally stepped off the train platform into hotel Susantha’s and were offered an AC room with breakfast included for 6500 rupees (around $35 AUD). The room was upstairs with a balcony overlooking the pool/garden. Whilst the AC didn’t work great, the room was kept at a comfortable temperature with the use of the ceiling fan. The double bed (2 singles pushed together) was comfortable and had a mosquito net. The bathroom had warm water (we haven’t had a warm shower in weeks!) and good water pressure in the shower. Mozzie coils were provided and we were able to use the fridge in their kitchen to keep our drinks cool. Surprisingly, the noise from the trains was minimal and don’t bother us at all. Breakfast included fresh fruit, tea/coffee, fresh fruit juice, eggs your way, toast with butter/jam, and banana fritters. Just a short walk over to the beach which was safe for swimming.

We were picked up at the airport on time. We arrived at the hotel at 6:00 a.m. We were able to move into our room shortly afterwards. Standard room, simple but it had everything you needed. Shower, ceiling fan, mosquito net and a balcony to relax on. From there you could see the beautiful garden and watch chipmunks and birds. The room was clean and was tidied every day. There was always internet in the restaurant, but not all the time in the room. The only thing I missed was a refrigerator. I have never experienced such warm and friendly staff. You immediately felt at home! The food was very good and the service was excellent 👍. Very family-like, I already miss everyone. The location is great! The beautiful beach is not far away, the train station is right in front of the hotel. You should just find out when the train is running. That way you can get from A to B cheaply. The hotel complex was always kept clean. Very hard-working employees. The Ayurvedic massages, which you could book directly on site, were super good, very pleasant and relaxing. The loungers and furnishings are not the newest, but that is not important to me. A very nice stay, I would go back in a heartbeat.
