Villa 700

This was the loveliest place to stay. With a fabulous beachside location. We enjoyed a full fresh breakfast and a swim in the pool. The staff were extremely accommodating and helpful and we would highly recommend a stay at this location.

The villa is superb to relax and enjoy your stay without any disturbance. The manager, chef and the staff is really helpful. Food was tasty and the rooms are clean and spacious. We had a good time there and I recommend this villa for everyone.

We stayed at villa 700 for 13 nights! We did the tour and then headed to the beach. We wanted somewhere we could relax, celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary, and be on the beach without being with lots of other people in a big noisy hotel. We had asked for the large room at the front, upstairs and with the large balcony, which we were duly given. Everything was great other than the fact that it is close to the road and, beyond that the railway line. Being very sensitive to noise, we asked to be moved over to the suite on the other side of the building. This room doesn't back onto the road and also overlooks the front. Gayan (the manager) moved us within a couple of days so we were then quite happy. They have five staff, and we cannot praise them enough. We were utterly spoilt. They have an amazing young chef (Eroshana) who worked his socks off everyday, making amazing breakfasts for us and any other guests who came and went. He prepared a different evening menu everyday, came out and let us choose and lowered the spice levels where necessary!! I urge you to try his food if you get the chance. He made us a special dinner and a cake for our anniversary and set up a table outside, they made it such a lovely day. The three other members of staff; Kaveesha, Pethum and Maleesha worked very hard, and catered for our every need, (especially through the cyclone), I really can't praise them enough. Anyway, back to the place itself: There are five rooms, three face the front and two at the back. My advice is to get a front one as they are all great. The other two are nice rooms but have no opening windows, ok for a quick stopover but maybe not for a longer stay. Everywhere is kept very clean and tidy, they spend hours cleaning the rooms in between guests. The pool is kept nice and clean but the rest of the garden/fencing is in need of some updating/maintenance. The lads do keep it raked and tidy but the outside furniture need replacing. As others have said, there is no alcohol on site but there are several wine shops in Bentota and one closer in the opposite direction which we walked along the beach to. They are happy to keep the wine and beer in the fridge in the kitchen for you or there is a small fridge in the room. A few doors along there is a nice place called Sea Rock Villas and you can go along and sit and have a drink there. There are a few other places to eat and have drinks in both directions from Villa 700 but we loved the food so much that Eroshana was cooking that we didn't want to go anywhere else! He also makes a great breakfast. All in all, we thoroughly recommend.
