Best Western Grand Hotel

A night we will never forget – very disappointing We stayed at the Grand Hotel and had high expectations, but the night became a complete nightmare. The room lacked AC despite extreme heat outdoors. After a day with over 30 degrees the room was extremely warm and it was not possible to bring down the temperature. We got two fans, but they sounded like tornadoes and made it virtually impossible to sleep. The result was that we lay awake all night in a room that felt like a sauna. What makes this extra serious is that we traveled with our little baby. She got very hot, slept unusually much, got lethargic and barely wanted to eat. In the morning we were forced to go into hospital where it turned out she had a 39.4 degree fever. After such a night of extreme heat and very little sleep and recovery, this was an extremely stressful and frightening situation for us as parents. We understand that the weather cannot be controlled, but a hotel at this level must have a plan for warm periods. Either functional cooling, better solutions for guests with small children or at least information before check-in that the rooms can get so hot that they are difficult to stay in. At check-in 20:00, not a single fan was turned on, all day the air has been stationary in the room. We are very disappointed with our stay and especially over a night that ended with hospital visits and great concern.

Very nice hotel where we were met by a fantastic woman at the reception. I had trouble sleeping in the very soft bed. Apart from that, I'm super happy! Breakfast was world class!! Lots to choose from, delicious, fresh and very inviting! Can warmly recommend this hotel :)

We were in Halmstad for my nieces graduation. The hotel is in a great location. The rooms were nice, and the beds were very comfortable. My only negative was the hot drinks at breakfast, there were large urns, one with coffee and other other hot water. I am a tea drinker generally and the water wasn’t hot enough to brew the tea and was lukewarm to drink. The coffee was warmer but was too bitter for my tastes. Even so I’d say it was a lovely hotel and definitely worth a stay.
