Clarion Grand Ostersund

The Clarion Hotel Grand Östersund is wonderfully located in the middle of the city center and there are many restaurants in the immediate vicinity. There is a parking garage on the street opposite the reception. You can find a parking space here. Important, you have to decide when you start parking how long you want to park and book and pay for the license plate. One day currently (July 2026) costs 120 SEK. The reception was very friendly and efficient. You feel welcome. The room was very nice and well-equipped. Unfortunately there was no safe, or we did not find it. The hotel itself spans several buildings, which can mean longer walks. Not a problem for us, but for those with limited mobility, a room in the main hotel building should be a better option. The breakfast buffet was well-stocked and sufficient. The hotel staff, whether at the reception, in the restaurant, in Nòr, or at breakfast, was very friendly and attentive. Checking out was also very efficient.

Gran Östersund Hotel is in a great central location, making almost everything within walking distance. The parking garage is right next to the hotel, which was very convenient. The breakfast was good and offered plenty of variety. Our room was clean and spacious, with enough room for two people. The hotel staff were also friendly throughout our stay. The only downside was the lack of air conditioning. The room was quite stuffy when we arrived, and we had to keep the window open all night to make it comfortable. Since the hotel is on a busy street, it was quite noisy, so if you’re visiting during the summer, I would recommend bringing earplugs. Overall, we had a pleasant stay, but considering the price, I felt the hotel was a bit expensive for what it had to offer.
