BEST WESTERN Hotel Royal Corner

This was my second stay at the hotel in connection with studies at Linnaeus University. Decided to give it another chance after some shortcomings last time. This time it was slightly better. I got an armchair with armrest, which was better when I sat with the computer. I appreciated the carpeting, which makes the floor feel softer to walk on. The room (534) was large and spacious. Breakfast was good, especially the salmon mess. Friendly staff at the reception. Unfortunately, there was little to be desired this time too. In my room, the TV wasn't working properly. It became strange sound and it pixelated on all channels. It could be okay picture for a while, but then it was the same again. Let me know at the reception and was asked if I tried cromecasting, which I had not. But should you really need it? Could have changed rooms, but then my other wishes could not be fulfilled. I missed the centered ceiling lamp in the main part of the room, that is, where the bed and the writing away is. There was poor lighting at night. Ceiling lamp was only in the hall. In the bathroom I would have liked a pedal bucket as a trash can, so you have a lid over the trash. Would have liked more power outlets at the desk and bed.

Booked room for pets through Hotels.com something went wrong in the system and I got a room that could not take dog. I asked them to rebook me to a dog room, but I wasn't allowed! Their suggestion was that I cancel (for only 50% refund) and then book a new dog room for full price again. So pay 150% for a room because of their page on Hotels.com, dog owners advise about rooms with dog bans. I refused and called Elite Stadshotellet instead. They gave me a 30% discount outright just when they heard how badly Royal Corner handled it. Thank you for the Elite Stadshotellet! ❤️

Probably the best value hotel in our Swedish trip. Great location at the end of the pedestrian mall, large room, quiet, free parking in the back, friendly service, great breakfast, reasonable price. The twin beds are pushed together. Slightly dated room but everything clean, comfortable and functional.
