Clarion Grand Hotel Helsingborg

Disappointing stay – not what we expected Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience at Grand Hotel Helsingborg. We arrived around 8:00 PM. Check-in was smooth, but when we entered our room we were immediately greeted by a radio playing strange music, which felt more unsettling than welcoming. There was also a chair placed directly in front of the window with the curtains closed, giving the room an odd atmosphere. The biggest issue was the bed. It honestly looked as if two people had been lying in it after it had been made, making us question whether the room had already been occupied. We returned to reception, and after about 10 minutes the receptionist found us another room. She agreed that the room was clearly not in an acceptable condition. The second room was smaller than the room category we had booked. It was extremely dark, very hot, and had poor ventilation. Again, the bed looked as though someone had already been lying in it. We soon realized that this is apparently how the hotel makes its beds, but instead of looking inviting, they simply look messy and unmade. The bathroom was also disappointing. There were two long black hairs clearly visible on the floor, and the floor generally looked dusty and not properly cleaned. Later that evening we wanted to watch the World Cup match, but the TV was incredibly dim. The brightness settings had been locked by the hotel, making it impossible to adjust the picture. Combined with the rather small TV, it made for a poor viewing experience. Finally, we were given a twin room with two single beds pushed together. The beds constantly slid apart, not just the mattresses but the entire bed frames. Within minutes there was a gap of around 10 cm between them, making it very uncomfortable to sleep. Overall, this was not the standard we expected from a hotel with Grand Hotel’s reputation. The lack of cleanliness, poor room preparation, uncomfortable beds, and locked TV settings made for a disappointing stay. I would not choose to stay here again. And would not recommend anyone else to do so either…

Very good hotel located centrally and nice location, staff are absolutely fantastic

Best location near the station and the Kärnan and downtown. Very nice staff and good food. Nice decor and comfortable room.
