Hotel Horisont

We have stayed there many times in the summer but unfortunately it gets worse and this year it was not good. We stayed there in July and the room was incredibly hot almost 30 degrees not even a floor fan in the room. The curtains that existed were not the kind that keeps out some of the heat but of ordinary fabric. The bedside lamp was broken that is on the wall and they had put there a large lamp on foot that takes up almost the entire surface of the small bedside shelf that existed. In the shower it was hot and humid all the time without working ventilation. Black mold on the tile joints and moisture in the ceiling, the shelf in the shower was gone so the shower bottle was on the water pipes. Wifi did not work at all or very bad I pointed out the shortcomings to the hotel manager when we were going home and she was not so accommodating. The bed lamps that other guests have been complaining about for a year, she said it takes time to fix new lamps and replace. Regarding the heat, you could borrow a small table fan if we had asked. If they know that many rooms get very hot in the summer, they should set a floor fan in the room that is there when guests come, very simple solution you might think. Wifi has been bad for years when we have been there and when we complained about wifi she said that we are working on a solution but it takes time to fix a working wifi. By 2026 it will be so easy to fix a good and stable wifi that works in all rooms. Cleaning and bedding they had apparently stopped this year to save money but if you stay longer than three nights they clean once. The hotel is located in a quiet location, close to the city center. The beds were comfortable and the staff nice even the breakfast was approved. Hope there will be some better maintenance at the hotel so they fix the flaws that are.

Good Morning hotels claims to be Sweden’s leading discount chain with around 20 hotels, most of which have fairly simple but clean and tidy premises and rooms. The chain's hotels in Helsingborg are of a different caliber. It was built by OK in 1985, operated from the start by RESO and then called Hotel Horizon. Nowadays the hotel is part of the Good Morning Group with a plus sign in the name and has good rooms with “real” double beds, a relaxation area with sauna in the top floor, a restaurant and free parking albeit not in its own guarded parking. You have to agree on the parking spaces in front of the hotel. The restaurant is good, my caesar salad was excellent though perhaps a little expensive (for the frugal there is a Performance as the nearest neighbor). The hotel is located a few km from Helsingborg city center, a bit far to walk. But you can settle for a 10-minute walk to Gustav Adolfs torg where there are also a number of restaurants of various kinds. If you want to stay more centrally in Helsingborg, you can find hotels at about the same price point, but then you have to put up with paying extra for car parking. We stayed at the hotel for two nights and had no complaints, service and rooms were fine with plenty of wall outlets. Breakfast was served in the restaurant and was just fine with everything you could ask for. We might well consider coming back.

It was hot and there was no air conditioning in the room, but it was expected, but the window barely opened and it was terribly hot, impossible to sleep. I also left a bracelet and a chain at the hotel, which were very dear to me, returned after a few hours, asked if they had found them , the answer was no. I left contacts, but they never wrote to me, very sad , things were very valuable to me, all the impression of the trip was ruined 😭
