Stallmastaregarden

Visited Stallmestergården a few years ago and found this hotel was perfect. When my son and I were going to take a trip to Stockholm, the choice was easy. It is nice walk to for example Gamla stan, or central Stockholm, a pleasant walk. This beautiful hotel can, and I would recommend, very good service, and friendly staff. The hotel is beautifully located just outside the noise of the city. Next time someone wants to visit Stockholm, this hotel is recommended.

The bartender, the tall, Slim, man with the glasses was very rude, and I assumed it was because I was American. Every time I came into the restaurant I was ignored, but other Swiss people or Scandinavians were sat and served before me and they arrived after me I was sitting with my knees to my chest on the couch while I waited for the restaurant to open as I am recovering from abdominal pain and I was rudely yelled at for having my shoes on a couch, which I understood, but he was rude to me the day before and rude to me after he sat me in the smallest table next to a large group and an open empty restaurant in a Scandinavian couple that came in, was able to sit at a Six top next to the window . They were also served water before me and greeted before me and they arrived after I did. This man is very rude and I got the impression that he is not interested in serving Americans…

I have stayed at Stallmästaregården several times and really like the ambiance and the style, not to mention the closeness to the water (Brunnsviken) and the Hagapark, a vast and popular nature area, with large lawns, woods and gardens. Friendly staff and nice breakfast. Bonus with the outdoor seating bar/restaurant "Bryggan" by the seaside, an excellent place for a drink or pizza if the weather allows it (only open on sunny days I think). Also a perfect stay if you are a Parkrunner and would like to attend Haga Parkrun, the hotel is located 500m from the starting point. Currently (May 2026) quite a bit of construction/road work by the entrance of the hotel, but still a green oasis when getting through the fences.
