Berling

At the beginning of Drottninggatan in Karlstad, a regular hotel has been converted into an apartment hotel, Berling Apartments, with more than 20 apartments complete with kitchen and dining areas. When we arrived the reception was closed, but the entire check-in was easily handled digitally. We formatted each key and could easily occupy our room which was very clean and tidy, but perhaps a little sterile without any disturbing paintings – but disturbed a threshold between the bedroom and kitchen area. Here was everything you could demand as a stove, fridge, microwave and detergent even if the dish brush and dishcloth were quite useless, an unnecessary miss. A tip: Bring everything you use in your cooking if you intend to use the kitchen. The apartments are very centrally located within walking distance to both the harbor, Pråm Canal and Stora torget. Lars Lerins Sandgrund, Museum Park and Sandgrundsudden are about 1 km away. However, there are only six free parking spaces. It is possible during a weekend when street parking is free, but on weekdays it can be expensive to park nearby. And consider that a queen-size bed is 140 cm narrow.
