Krone Unterstrass

Easy access from Zurich airport on the tram. Take tram#10 at the airport, change to tram #14 at Milchbuck station on the same plataform, get off in front of the hotel at station Kronenstrasse. Trip takes about 30 min and costs $6.80 Swiss francs. Best thing about hotel is the staff - very professional and courteous. Location is far from old town and Lake Zurich. It takes about 15-20 min to walk to the main train station and another 5-10 to old town, and another 20 min to the Lake. There's nothing of touristic or historic interest around the hotel. So if you're interested in tourism, this is not the place. Room was small, bathroom even smaller. Had I had another person with me, we'd be on top of each other. Two single beds right next to each other (there was no space in btw them literally) so you'll become very intimate with your travel companion, whether you want it or not. Very clean, free tap water and safe in the room. Bed was ok. One bottle in the shower doubled as shampoo- conditioner- body wash. Shower stall very, very tight and I'm not even a big guy! Bring your own toiletries if you want something of good quality. Restaurant was good but expensive - but what's not in Zurich? Be prepared to pay 25 francs for a burger or a salad (that's 25 dollars roughly!) in the restaurant. Wine was cheap and the service was good. Did not dare to try the breakfast. This is more a 2.5 star hotel for American standards.

Super helpful and friendly even BEFORE arrival, when I asked about public transport connections. Just as friendly on-site. My premium single room was perfect for my purposes: with a mini-fridge, electric kettle, and a bathroom with natural light, and enough space for my yoga mat :-)

About 15 mins walk uphill from Hbf. Very comfortable room- good size (119) with excellent shower and large bathroom. Friendly staff on arrival. Restaurant unable to help with need for gluten free but did provide soya milk… attitude was poor- you will have to go and buy something.
