Eiger Swiss Quality

Very nice and well-maintained hotel in Mürren. The hotel is run with a lot of heart. The staff members are very polite and helpful. We had a nice, clean, and well-furnished room with a view of the Eiger. The wellness area is well-equipped and offers everything after a long day. The food selection in the restaurant was varied and very delicious. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. Truly the top address in Mürren. We will come back. Keep it up.

My wife and I stayed for three nights in July 2026. This was our third visit to Mürren, but our first stay at Hotel Eiger, and we have already decided where we will stay next time. This is not a hotel that needs to present itself as extravagant luxury. It succeeds by getting the important things right: a practical and newly refurbished room, excellent personal service, good food and an exceptional mountain setting. We stayed in room 340 with a mountain view. I said several times during our stay that it was close to my idea of a perfectly designed hotel room. The proportions were right, the layout was practical, the bed was comfortable, and everything felt well maintained. The room was cleaned spotlessly each day. There was no air conditioning, but with daytime temperatures of only around 22°C during our visit, this caused no problem. The balcony and the view across the Lauterbrunnen valley were the features we will remember most, as my photos show. Service made an equally strong impression. Daniela at reception had helped me with several questions before our arrival and continued to look after us with genuine warmth and professionalism throughout the stay. She is one of those employees who noticeably raises the level of the entire hotel experience. We ate dinner at the hotel on all three evenings and were fortunate to be served by Carla. She was efficient, engaging and had a wonderful sense of humour. Both breakfast and dinner could be enjoyed outside while looking towards the mountains, which made every meal feel special. The breakfast buffet offered a good overall selection, although we would have appreciated a little more choice among the hot dishes. The refurbished indoor pool was also a real asset, and we used it every day after walking in the mountains. The hotel is normally only a few metres from Mürren railway station. As the railway was closed for refurbishment during our visit, we arrived by cable car and were collected by the hotel in a golf cart. What could be improved: The only real improvement for us would be a broader selection of hot breakfast dishes. This is also not an inexpensive hotel, although we felt that the overall experience justified the price. Final verdict: A clear 5/5. Hotel Eiger combines comfort, excellent personal service, good food and a mountain view that makes the stay memorable. We could easily have remained for another couple of nights.
