Each of them excelled in their respective roles and contributed to making our stay truly memorable. Their professionalism, warmth, and genuine commitment to exceptional service are a true reflection of the high standards associated with the Mandarin Oriental brand.
This was our third stay at a Mandarin Oriental property, following our wonderful experiences in London and Barcelona, and once again, your team exceeded our expectations. We are already looking forward to our next overnight stay at Mandarin Oriental Lucerne in just a few days.
Please extend our heartfelt thanks and recognition to everyone mentioned above. They are a tremendous asset to your hotel and to the Mandarin Oriental family.

My stay at Mandarin Oriental Geneva has been severely compromised by the hotel’s policy of continuously scenting its public areas.
I have Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS), a medical condition characterized by symptoms triggered by exposure to very low concentrations of certain chemicals, including the synthetic fragrances commonly used in air fresheners and scent diffusers.
Throughout my stay, I found artificial fragrances in the reception, lobby, bar, spa, gym and other public areas. As a result, I was unable to use most of the hotel’s facilities without developing symptoms. The only places where I could comfortably remain were my room and its terrace ( where other guest were smoking cigars)
It is difficult to understand why a hotel that strives to provide the highest standard of hospitality continues to rely on such an intensive scenting policy. From an indoor air quality perspective, deliberately introducing fragrance compounds into shared spaces does not improve the guest experience. Instead, it creates an unnecessary chemical exposure that excludes a segment of the population from using those spaces.
True luxury should be defined by exceptional service, cleanliness, fresh air, comfort and attention to guests’ wellbeing, not by the pervasive use of artificial fragrances.
Accessibility is not limited to removing architectural barriers. It also means eliminating environmental barriers that prevent some guests from enjoying the hotel’s facilities on equal terms.
As long as Mandarin Oriental Geneva maintains this scenting policy, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone living with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS). A hotel of this calibre should, at the very least, provide fragrance-free public areas or adopt a policy that minimizes the use of artificial scents, allowing every guest to enjoy the facilities they have paid for.
In today’s world, luxury should be inclusive. Unfortunately, during my stay, it was not.
