Gasthaus & Hotel Berninahaus

Great! Between hostel, refuge and hotel, the place perched at more than 2000m is magical. We are already quite far from the hustle and bustle of a large station, but we are also very close thanks to the buses and trains that pass just in front with the Bernina Suot stop that is right in front. The panorama is crazy, you are between Switzerland and Italy. Coming to ski all the areas of St Moritz solo for 3 days, it is very convenient to go skiing in St Moritz with the train, Corvatsch with the 602, and 1.5km the preserved resorts of Diavolezza and Lagalb (1 or 2 stations away). Otherwise the rooms are very cozy, we feel really good. While wood is comforting, it is also omnipresent in the rooms. The bedding is good, I have a light sleep I slept very well, no noise from 10pm. Commons with carpeting actually do the job well visibly. I didn’t have time to go to dinner but I thank Julia for the cutlery loan. The ski room is convenient with easy access. The staff is extremely kind, but also very friendly. Special mention to Gino, the boss whose name I forgot and of course Tanja for the welcome, help and discussions. I recommend the place 100%, a unique experience. In short it was Tip Top. Thank you to all the staff for this perfect stay! Thank you!

Stayed three nights in their two bedroom suite and it was a wonderful experience. While not cheap, it is better value than many places in the valley (e.g. Pontresina, where we used to stay) and the location away from town is great if you don't require shops, choice of restaurants or evening entertainment. Rustic room with pine panelling and furnishing was spacious, clean and comfortable, service was very good as was their restaurant. Excellent breakfast buffet too (albeit only available from 7:30). Travelling by car, it is easy to move around. If you arrive and rely on public transport, the hotel is right across from the station but you will need to watch timetables closely and plan your outings accordingly as trains don't run all night. If you stay for a couple of nights, you will receive a pass for public transport in the area which is good value and includes mountain railways / cable cars, which are fairly costly. We look forward to returning to this place.

Very cozy room, with a view. All in wood that transmits a feeling of warmth. Staff helpful, explained various things about what the area can offer giving me great ideas for the summer season. One more reason to go back!
