Hotel Morteratsch Pontresina

The Hotel Morteratsch in Pontresina has a café with outdoor seating. Although it is the only establishment at the Bernina Express train stop, situated right at the start of the popular trail to the glacier, customers sitting at the tables are not permitted to use the Wi-Fi. The member of staff told me that it is reserved exclusively for hotel guests and not for customers of the café and restaurant. WHAT’S MORE, THIS WAS COMMUNICATED IN AN EXTREMELY RUDE MANNER. I find this restriction to be unjustified and inexcusable.

For the Upper Engadine and the Pontresina region, the Hotel Morterasch offers an unbeatable price-performance ratio. The rooms are very well equipped, the food is excellent, and the service - even though some have just started, is very friendly and helpful. Not to mention the location by the rushing glacier stream with a view of the Bellavista.

Beautiful place and easy accessible trail up to the glacier area. We stayed in the newer building. Rooms where nice but it was very hot in the rooms. And hard to keep windows open as it became very cold outside at night. The service was not top notch... They where not really able to explain the menu in the restaurant and where quite ignorant when we complained about the rooms. Felt like the staff was new…
