Super comfortable hotel in the center of the pretty village of Samedan, a 5-minute walk from the train station. Simple and warm welcome, delicious breakfast. Excellent value for money. Book through their website.

What a find! Three of us (one couple plus one single) stayed for four nights. We chose Samedan as a place to stay convenient for exploring the railways of that part of the country, and the Hotel Donatz appealed initially being a short walk from, but not on top of, the railway station. So far, all boxes ticked! The welcome we received upon our arrival was really warm and helpful. Since we were arriving on a Friday night, we had already reserved to eat in the restaurant and we were so pleased that we did. The Aberdeen Angus beef was exquisite. We enjoyed our meal so much, we booked for our second night. We also had a light dinner in the Wine Bar on another night and thoroughly enjoyed that too. The hotel's wine list is astonishing. Breakfast is served in another part of the hotel. There was plenty of choice and the food was high quality. Our rooms were comfortable and welcoming. Bearing in mind the proximity of St Moritz, we thought the charges good value. On our departure morning, we were sorry to be moving on. All three of us would have no hesitation in returning. Highly recommended.

The stay was pleasant, the staff was nice and attentive, the breakfast was plentiful, and the wine bar was interesting.
