EXCELLENT.
We stayed one night, but if you do not ski, it is enough for Zermatt

Well-located hotel with a very beautiful view. More like 3 stars than 4.
+ view, covered garage, friendly staff, very good breakfast room. Breakfast was okay, comfortable beds. Bus stop nearby
- bedroom furniture is not practical and inexpensive (except for the bed, which is very good). Nightstand without a drawer with an ultra-light lamp, old electrical outlets, IKEA-style wardrobes, and a very noisy mini fridge under the desk. Breakfast: lacks lactose-free milk and whole grain cereals.

Hotel Alpenblick is located in Weggis, slightly elevated above Lake Lucerne. Already in advance we were very friendly welcomed by e-mail and comprehensively informed about directions, parking (parking and underground parking free of charge) and check-in. The first look at the hotel was a bit irritating, as the exterior of this yet large building complex did not meet our expectations based on the interior images on the Internet. However, the hotel occupies only part of the building, the rest are private apartments and practices.
And right at the entrance and reception are beautifully, lovingly decorated in modern Alpine style. This continues in restaurant and hotel rooms. The reception by the staff at the reception was extremely friendly and we were directly told everything necessary briefly and comprehensively.
Then we came to our room with balcony and lake view and were immediately thrilled by this incomparable view of Lake Lucerne and the mountains opposite. The room is very small but the decor is beautiful with your high quality wooden furniture and extremely well thought out. The bed is very comfortable, not too soft and not too hard, and oriented so that you can look directly over the balcony and so fall asleep and wake up to the great view. Nevertheless, we only slept well to a limited extent, as the room heats up extremely quickly and becomes stuffy due to its small size and the nevertheless quite low ceiling. Sleeping with the balcony door open was no longer an alternative at the beginning of October and there is no air conditioning.
The rest of the room is so well-planned that a closet, desk, fridge and a small table with an armchair provide enough space for a pleasant week's holiday. The balcony is equipped with a table and two comfortable chairs and an awning protects against direct sunlight so you could spend the whole day there.
The bathroom is also very small, but also very cleverly made, so there is room for a large walk-in shower. Without flooding, however, it does not go off, as the glass shower wall covers only one half of the shower. Everything is very well maintained and clean.
From the restaurant you have a view over the lake.
The breakfast was excellent quality but somewhat limited in choice. There were cereals, yogurt, juice, the same three cheeses every day, the same four types of cold cuts (salami, bacon, boiled ham and mushroom lyoner), jam and excellent rolls and bread every day. Eggs were available for self-cooking, which I very much welcome when they are not brought to me from the kitchen cooked according to my wishes. But I was missing the question of whether I wanted a fried egg, scrambled eggs or omelette and I was missing a little cake or something like that.
Dinner at the restaurant we enjoyed twice and it was excellent both times. Big praise to the kitchen.
Meanwhile, our car (large station wagon) was parked in the quite spacious underground car park, which offers direct access to the hotel via an elevator.
Right at the beginning, we were advised at the reception that the Du culture is lived in the hotel. While my husband was quite enthusiastic, I had some reservations and unfortunately also saw myself confirmed during the week. For most of the staff, this came across super well and it was really pleasant. But with a still very young employee I had the impression that she had a hard time dubbing us (over 60). I think you have to show understanding for that. And one employee was really intrusive personal in his way. He was probably of the opinion that duzen is equivalent to good buddy and his "jokes" towards me went a little beyond good taste.
Overall, however, we had a wonderful stay:-)
