Antares

We stayed at Antare for a few days after finishing Walker’s Haute Route hike and we had great time there. The hotel is in a quieter area but with walking distance to Zermatt town center. It offers spectacular view of Matterhorn from our room balcony so we got the chance to appreciate Matterhorn at down and sunset. We love eating meals or drinking teas while admiring Matterhorn. Nothing can beat that. Antare also offers complimentary breakfast with varieties of food, and that was huge to us after 10 days hiking in the ALPS. The staff at the front desk was super nice and allowed us to store our luggage there before check in time.

Very good location: less than 100 meters from the cable car to the ski area, perfect for those who ski and want to leave the hotel ready. The center is about 10 minutes walk, but the walk is pleasant. The staff is attentive, friendly and very professional: a real strength of the structure. I stayed in room 403, just spectacular. The view of the Matterhorn looked like a picture hanging from the window. The room is not very large, but it is still functional. In the bathroom I would recommend replacing the plastic bags with soap and shampoo dispensers, and installing a fixed shower head to make the shower more comfortable. Breakfast was not particularly exciting. The salty corner is there, but it could be of higher quality; very nice instead the cheese tray. The sweet part is the one that, in my opinion, should be improved the most. The bill, finally, was not exaggerated: a detail that I really appreciated. Overall, a great stay with some small room for improvement. Recommended!

Had a view of the Matterhorn on balcony which was amazing but roof obstructed it so had to sit on side but still amazing to have. Room does not have AC so was a bit hot when I was there. Great to have spa on premises some go naked as it’s Europe. A bit out of the main area but close to glacier paradise lift. Room could use renovation. Seems like it was last done 49 years ago. Breakfast was amazing and staff worked hard and were super nice. Overall great stay
