Le Chamois

Classic old Alpine hotel in a rather boring village (in any case, in the summer). The hotel is clean, but unfortunately it still appears worn and a little grubby. Our room was spacious with good, firm beds and a terrace overseeing the nice, lush valley. There is no air condition in the hotel, so rooms are pretty hot - don't book this hotel in the summer! Wifi is OK, but not great - I couldn't use my computer on the terrace. The breakfast is VERY good: The variety is not big, but the quality of e.g. bread is amazing: Freshly baked and still warm, I've had much worse breakfast in much better hotels! The staff is helpful, but (except one) their English skills are (to be very diplomatic) rather inadequate, which led to some misunderstandings regarding e.g. cleaning.

I was there with a group on Sept. 26. The rooms are large and spacious with a balcony. The friendliness of the staff is very good. The organization of the tables is catastrophic. They were never set at the same tables. No rolls for breakfast tomorrow, you had to boil the eggs yourself.. Although sometimes 50 guests wanted to have breakfast, there were only 2 fully automatic coffee machines available.

Friendly welcome and cleanliness of rooms is good. For skiing and for 1-2 nights perfect. The breakfast buffet is good. Somewhat incomprehensible that breakfast is not possible in the ski season and in spring from 0700, the cable cars run from 08.00. there is indeed a self-service early breakfast room. But this room shines with a defective coffee machine and almost no selection. It is worth waiting for the official buffet to open. Unfortunately, the hotel is not quite up to date. In the dining room, the ceiling has visible stains and an orphaned sun terrace testifies to the former glory.
