Hotel Bon Port

Budget hotel - ideal for a few hours sleep If you are travelling through, coming for a short stay to enjoy the wine caves, on your way to Geneva, or coming from Geneva, then Hotel Bon Port is a good location set 500 m from the lake, and a short 5-10 minute work to Freddie Mercury statue. If you are looking for something a little bit better than basic, I would avoid. The rooms are very tired, plain white walls which would do with a paint, plain brown curtains, very thin and basic bedding, small thin towels with threads. There is no entrance area, and you are not allowed to sit and wait in the "breakfast" room, we sat on the stairs or the kerb outside whilst waiting. I would stay again if I was passing through , however I would not stay here if I needed more than one nights basic accomodation.

The hotel has several positive points. The staff is nice, welcoming and friendly, making the stay more pleasant. The property is also well located, close to Lake Geneva and the casino, which allows easy walking. Covered parking is available (surcharge), which can be convenient in this area. However, there are aspects that need to be improved. The shower clearly lacks power and the water temperature is difficult to regulate: you go from cold to very hot quite suddenly. Regarding parking, access is quite complicated. The ramp is not very safe and the front door is very narrow, which really gives the impression that you can put the wheels in the void if you are not very careful. The room was also very warm, which can make the night a little uncomfortable. In summary, the hotel remains decent for a short stay thanks to its location and the kindness of the staff, but some amenities and access to parking could be improved.

This was a deeply upsetting experience. The MALE receptionist was hostile, rude, and intimidating, and his behavior made me feel genuinely uncomfortable and unsafe. Instead of being helpful, he was confrontational and dismissive, which is shocking for a hotel reception desk. He shouted at customers in an aggressive and intimidating manner, which was shocking and unacceptable. This is not just poor service — it’s disturbing behavior that no guest should ever have to tolerate. I am especially concerned for solo travelers and vulnerable guests. If this is how customers are treated at the MALE front desk, it raises serious concerns about the hotel’s overall management and standards. BETTER DON‘T STAY HERE！I urge future guests to be cautious, as my experience at the MALE reception desk made me fear for my personal safety.
