The hotel is located centrally near ETH Universität. Very accessible by public transport and a 3 Tram stops to the city center. The tram stop to City Centre and airport is only 2 minutes walk. Staff are friendly but the communication is Vintage ( Example: Guest- “May I have sausages and omelette because I don’t like cheese, ham and bacon?”, staff will reply, sorry that’s your problem. This is both rude and vintage) just like the hotel itself. Breakfast is extremely traditional too and since there is no kitchen, there isn’t much room for flexibility.

This lovely hotel, a 30 minute ride aboard the #10 tram from the airport, is a delightful oasis near the ETH as well as downtown. It is quiet and nicely appointed with a very attentive staff ready to help you in any way. The breakfast, an optional item($20) looked lovely and can be selected the night before but if you just want a coffee and a croisant, there is a lovely coffee shop within a 2 minute walk. Since the ETH is a hub, lots of trams stop in front of the building, meaning you can get to any part of Zurich using public transit.

I frequently have to stay in Zurich, and have stayed here many times. Hotel Sunnehus admittedly does not give the 'freshly renovated' impression and has the old carpet held down by metal rods. But it still has a bit of class. The breakfast is good, and (I believe) not too expensive (maybe 15 Francs). The single rooms are small, with literally a single bed, but they are quiet (even on the street side, which has little traffic). The staff are kind. I won't say it is great value for the money, but this is Zurich, indeed the center of Zurich, so it is pretty much what you would expect (~160 Francs/night for a single).
