easyHotel Basel

We were at this hotel as a couple for one night on August 1, 2026. The location is very good, as you can reach the city quickly. The room was small, but that didn't bother us, as we only spent one night there. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the room. It was midsummer and air conditioning was listed on the website. In reality, however, there was only a small fan. The air in the room was like in the tropics. Without sitting directly in front of the fan, the heat was barely bearable. Despite the open window, the air was very stuffy and the fan provided hardly any cooling. As a result, we were only able to sleep for a few hours. If you leave the window open at night, a lot of street noise also gets into the room, so a restful sleep is hardly possible. Our conclusion: The location is good, but anyone traveling in the summer should rather spend a little more money on a hotel with real air conditioning so that you can also have a quiet and restful night.

The room is advertised with air conditioning, which is not available. After asking the hotel, not even a partial refund was possible. Much too hot in the summer without air conditioning and the fan does absolutely nothing. If you have a lot of luggage, be aware that there is no elevator and there are steep stairs. The price isn't everything; for 5-10 CHF more, you can get better and more central hotels in Basel. I have to advise against booking here.

Cleanliness leaves much to be desired hair from the predecessor, bedsheets had holes and floor was not properly cleaned which you could fix easily to name a few examples. Overall, this hotel is suitable as an hours hotel and not to spend a few days there. Nobody has come forward to my direct complaint, that says it all.
