Swissotel Le Plaza Basel

Stayed here for a few nights attending an event at Jakobshalle. Overall hotel is average - small rooms with little natural light. Bathrooms are on the small side but not too bad. Restaurant is good with a decent breakfast spread. Fitness center is well equipped with strength, cardio, and free weight equipment. Service is outstanding. Stayed here only because Basel doesn’t have higher end hotels, but overall very satisfied.

The Basel Marriott was a great place to spend the week. The rooms are very comfortable. We appreciated having a mini-fridge in the room for a few snacks we picked up at the nearby Coop store. Each morning, we enjoyed the plentiful breakfast buffet. We received a BaselCard upon check-in to use for riding the local public transportation, without charge, during our entire stay. Very convenient location. The room was cleaned regularly and was supplied with plenty of nice towels and washcloths in the bathroom for our needs. The staff we encountered was kind and helpful, speaking multiple languages including English so communication was not a problem.

I had to print out a ticket for a train ride. Robin from the front office was super helpful and incredibly friendly with that. Top service – thank you very much for the great support!
