Basilea Swiss Quality Hotel

Very nice hotel,its on a quiet road in the old city( though dureing my stay they were fixing the road,but it wasnt too noisey) I had a small room on the first floor,it was very comfortable,quiet and very clean.The breakfast was very good.The hotel is a 2 min walk to the river,10 min walk to the train station,near many restaurants,the old city is absolutely beautiful.!!! I would stay here again.

We chose this hotel as it was just a short walk from Zurich Hautbahnhof and was relatively inexpensive by Zurich standards! It's also close to pretty much everything in Zurich. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and the check in process was very smooth. Our superior room was at the back of the hotel and while not huge was really nicely appointed in a contemporary style. The glass bathroom wall might not be for everyone but there is a curtain that can be pulled across if you prefer to shower in privacy - the shower room itself was lovely ! There wasn't a lot of storage space for a longer stay but for a two night stopover at the end of our holiday this wasn't an issue for us. There is a bar on the corner a few doors down from the hotel but as our room was at the back we didn't experience any noise; in any case, the hotel is located in a quieter street above/parallel to rather than on Niederdorfstrasse where the bars and restaurants are. Great breakfast - it's self-service but regularly replenished with plenty of choice and excellent coffee. Would definitely recommend for a short break in Zurich.

We choose Hotel Felix for its convenient location near Zurich Hauptbahnhof (about a 10-minute walk) and its reasonable pricing. However, reaching the hotel was challenging for elderly guests with heavy luggage due to an uphill, cobbled street leading to the entrance. ​Upon arrival, the staff were welcoming. We were assigned a street-facing room directly above a bar and cafe. Because our stay coincided with the Zurich Parade, the street noise was unbearable and made it impossible to sleep. The room itself was small with no notable views, but it featured a clean, renovated bathroom. Standard amenities like complimentary bottled water or a coffee machine were missing. The modern furniture and lighting was so cozy. ​The heat was another major issue. The hotel lacks air conditioning, and while the staff provided three fans, they merely blew hot air around the room. ​Combined with extremely soft, unsupportive pillows, the stay was not comfortable. ​On the positive side, the location is very practical, with a Coop supermarket, numerous restaurants, souvenir shops, and the lake all within short walking distance. The breakfast was also a highlight—far superior to other hotels I have visited—offering a delicious spread of cheeses, fresh fruits, muffins, scrambled eggs, and excellent coffee. ​Overall, while the convenience and very good breakfast were great, the steep cobbled approach, lack of air conditioning, and noise levels detracted from the experience.
