Basilea Swiss Quality Hotel

We choose Hotel Felix for its convenient location near Zurich Hauptbahnhof (about a 10-minute walk) and its reasonable pricing. However, reaching the hotel was challenging for elderly guests with heavy luggage due to an uphill, cobbled street leading to the entrance. ​Upon arrival, the staff were welcoming. We were assigned a street-facing room directly above a bar and cafe. Because our stay coincided with the Zurich Parade, the street noise was unbearable and made it impossible to sleep. The room itself was small with no notable views, but it featured a clean, renovated bathroom. Standard amenities like complimentary bottled water or a coffee machine were missing. The modern furniture and lighting was so cozy. ​The heat was another major issue. The hotel lacks air conditioning, and while the staff provided three fans, they merely blew hot air around the room. ​Combined with extremely soft, unsupportive pillows, the stay was not comfortable. ​On the positive side, the location is very practical, with a Coop supermarket, numerous restaurants, souvenir shops, and the lake all within short walking distance. The breakfast was also a highlight—far superior to other hotels I have visited—offering a delicious spread of cheeses, fresh fruits, muffins, scrambled eggs, and excellent coffee. ​Overall, while the convenience and very good breakfast were great, the steep cobbled approach, lack of air conditioning, and noise levels detracted from the experience.

We were only staying in Zurich for one night so proximity to the station was very important. Was delighted with our choice. The hotel was easy to find and was near many restaurants and the old town. Room was compact but clean and comfortable. Fantastic shower. The breakfast was amazing - so much choice and fresh produce. Reception staff were welcoming and helpful.

Nicely placed , walking distance from mainly everything. Simple and plain rooms, well equipped. Not really serviced, only breakfast, bo minibar, no bar, no vending machine. The weirdly ask for a deposit on top of the room charge .. in case one damages or steals ? Personally I found it unusual and not ok.
