Great location, friendly staff, but hotel could really use some updating. Carpets are stained and have bleach spots in places, dusty vents, generally feels like it’s ready for a refresh- I didn’t want to touch the floor with my bare feet (thankfully they do give you slippers). Good breakfast

This is the third time I have stayed at GbT while on a business visit in Zurich . I do not believe that this hotel qualifies for the four stars it purports to be - at most it is a middle ranking 3 star. I was charged SF 258 for one night in a room that had a mobile and very noisy mobile air conditioner as the built in system has broken down . The carpet was dirty , there was hair in the bath from a previous guest and the Wi Fi required signing on again when you moved around the hotel or temporarily switched your phone off. The good pints are its location and a reasonable (3 star) restaurant ( I had dinner and breakfast). The staff were helpful - but no more than you would expect . There are other similar hotels nearby that charge a lot less - and I will be staying in one of them in the future .

The location of the hotel is hard to beat. It is in a very nice neighborhood with upscale restaurants, designer shops, cafes, close to the lake and the Old town. Other than that it is not much to like about it. The hotel is old and overdue for renovation. It has a tiny elevator that barely enough for 3 people. Old carpet, A/C is a single unit standing on the floor. It helps to keep the room cool, but it is so loud that it is impossible to sleep when it is working. There is some traffic noise late at night and early in the morning because the hotel is located close to a busy intersection. It is not a modern 4 star hotel and it is very overpriced. The bed and all furniture were old. The bathroom was remodeled, but still has a shower over tub. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast is good, but it is not outstanding. Everything is expensive in Zurich, but it is possible to find much better hotels for the same price.
