Good well-maintained hotel. Nothing exceptional but service overall was of a high standard. I was able to check in early which was a plus as I had to go through to Taipei for the evening. The room's amenities are good except for a shortage of power points at the desk. Good sized desk. Bathroom was fine. Bed comfortable. Worst piece of furniture was the sofa - rectangular and uncomfortable. I've found these elsewhere in Taiwan - they are truly awful and should not be allowed in hotels. Breakfast was good and the dining area is spacious. Laundry facilities available but you have to pay to use the machines. Not too far to walk from the main station or to Big City. Happy to recommend it.

The Sol has been my go-to hotel in Hsinchu for may years. Room are spacious and clean. Nice shower and bath arrangement, and an attentive, helpful staff with a good east-west breakfast. Walking distance to down town and just a stones throw from one of my favorite Hsinchu restaurants, e, er , san (1 2 3). All at a good price.

The hotel is located at walking distance to the central area. We stayed there for 5 nights and were very happy with our room. For the price we paid it was surprisingly spacious, comfortable and clean, certainly good for value. The cafe in lobby offer free drinks and snack till midnight. The only thing we missed were body lotion and cotton wool pads, which might be important for those who like to pamper their skin in dry seasons. Hotel staffs and services were very good.
