Zaw Jung Business Hotel

Location is great that one need to exit from the "Rear Station" of Taichung TRA station and will see the hotel right across the road. I would say the decor of the floor where my room was looked worn-out and unappealing to some but this don't bother me much as I just need a clean bed and place to shower. To those who are particular about the decor and comfort feel in the room would be disappointed but as I reiterated it's not an issue to me but concern would be the type of flooring used in the shower/toilet (take precaution if you have kids or elderly) Breakfast was hand-delivered by staff to room that consisted either sandwich or burger with packet drink from nearby eatery (see picture). Nonetheless, the staff who attended to me at check-in was friendly and attentive to my concern that she went on to share some tips about moving around Taichung in my day trip planning.

1. ROOM - Room is reasonably clean. Toilet is clean. Corridor is very run down. - Room has no windows. Air-conditioned. Very low ceiling. - Comes with a bar fridge, LCD tv, wardrobe. - Reason to choose this hotel bcos it is one of the only choice in Taichung with a room that can accomodate 4 adults within budget of USD$100. 2. LOCATION - Not so well located. Although on map it is opposite train station, it is this that makes this location unattractive. Not in the best district to see the best of Taichung. 3. BREAKFAST - It comes in a packed sandwich with a packet drink. No complains. Don't expect buffet breakfast. 4. HOTEL AMENITIES - Didn't explore around but quite interesting district with many shops (dun expect high-end stores or malls). 5. REVIEW If I am to return to Taichung, would choose Hotel 53. If I am to return to visit, I will go straight to stay at Cingjing or Sun Moon Lake n skip Taichung.

Not a business hotel but definitely decent enough for leisure travelers on a budget. Friendly receptionists, tasty breakfast (sandwich and packet drinks), near railway station and easy access to food (Mode Mall is within 10 min from hotel). Corridor leading to rooms was dimly lit and run-down. But room seemed to have been renovated. Not chic, but decent looking. Importantly, room was clean and spacious.
