Grand View Resort Beitou

Nice, Comfy Beitou hot spring resort. Is very Close to Beitou Station In Taiwan. very nice, has luxurious rooms, not so value friendly, but most times worth the price. Rooms are very clean and modern. Free Breakfast was very nice. Note, there is a Western breakfast option and a Traditional breakfast option. overall great stay

We had a really fabulous time and wished we could stay for longer! The room was very spacious and in-room onsen was top notch. We truly appreciated the generosity of the minibar, and the personal touches like packing the snacks for us to takeaway and gifting us an anniversary photo really made the difference. The food was very high quality and nothing much to fault (only thing which we would have liked was to have complimentary table water included). Moving on to the service, every staff was very helpful and professional. Special mention to Ariel who is one of the best hospitality staff that we have come across. She was efficient during the check-in process and gave a very detailed explanation of the room and hotel facilities, and we were really happy to have been assigned a room with such a lovely sunset view. She also made sure our check-out process was seamless and provided us with tea when we came back from visiting the museum and waiting for the bus to leave. Can definitely say that it really elevated our overall experience. We will definitely come back again the next time we visit Taipei!

Stayed two nights. Almost perfect… but definitely deserving of a five star rating. You can read all about it in various platforms, but here are what that blew me away: (1). Room. There are only 66 rooms in this resort, so it’s not too crowded at most times, particularly if you stay on weekdays I guess. Guest room is large: it has a great balcony and also accommodates a private sulphur onsen with an adjacent cold bath. A Taiwanese yakuta (call reception to send replacement if the standard L size doesn’t fit you) is provided for your comfort when getting around within the premises. There are bath robes for use after soaking in the onsen. One of the very few hotels which has a chair in the wash basin!! There are face masks (!!!), facial cleanser (!!!), mouthwashes, well stocked complimentary mini bar and refreshments, apples, two kinds of nuts, pineapple cakes, dried fruits, coffee and hot water dispensers, three selections of Chinese tea with pots and hot water containers, TV with all of the usual entertainment, sterilised slippers etc. (2). Housekeeping. Efficient. Either plum wine or hot camomile tea (your choice) is served at turndown. Guess what, they ADD the apples and snacks and nuts even though I didn’t use them the first day!?!! I have never seen any housekeeper do that in any five star hotel or resort - the typical response would be to just “leave it as it is, if you don’t use it we won’t need to replace it”. (3). Three restaurants - the Chinese and French ones were reviewed separately with five stars each. Perfecto. (4). Onsen. Clean. Large. Comprehensive, though I thought they could introduce a variety in temperature settings for the two sulphur pools. They even have a “stone onsen” haha - first time I tried!?!! Lots of beverages and little snacks available too. (5). Other aspects. Check-in was done at the sofa in a very personalised manner. I must say I was suitably impressed. WiFi was speedy throughout the property. (6). Location. Note that it is quite high up on the mountain (compared to most other resorts here), so walking UP from your little walk around can get quite tedious (if you are elderly, perhaps make use of their free shuttle buses - they will get you a schedule). They will also give you a cute map which provides brainless guidance for a supposed one-hour walk which should cover the major nearby attractions. Make sure you visit the geothermal valley and the Beitou hot spring museum! The public library is beautiful! When I reached beitou park, I decided to eat lunch and fortuitously came across a cat cafe (“after glow”) - i wanted to review it but couldn’t find it on Tripadvisor. It’s just at a corner next to Starbucks and mini-carrefour. Cats roam about freely in it!!! Refer to the cute map and you will spot the carrefour and Starbucks logos! As I said, it’s already near perfection. I am aware that the management does not read these reviews, but anyway here it goes. You can STOP reading now if you’re just a regular customer. What I would do, if I were the management, to EVEN further enhance customer experience are the following: (1). I would offer customers cold face towels when they painfully (it’s gonna be pretty obvious - at least it was on MY Face haha) walk up the slope to reach the hotel. (2). I would change the daily fruit in the room. Alternative fruits to rotate would be bananas, guavas, grapes. (3). At check-in, I would ask customers for their preferred size of yakuta, then bring it along when showing customers to their rooms. (4). I would get some kind of shade for the balcony, because the afternoon sun shines directly onto the couch - that’s why I didn’t lay on it all afternoon! (5). The beautiful cards to signal a change in bedsheets gave me an inspiration. I would print some lovely bookmarks as a small gift to present at turndown service, something like what Shangri-la does. After all these years, I’m still using their pretty bookmarks!!! It’s an inexpensive something that keeps triggering memories. (6). I would expand the tiny gym which comprises of only treadmill machines. I mean, even if you cater to more matured customers, resistance training is still vital for prevention of osteoporosis!
