We Come Hostel

The biggest pro for We Come Hostel is the location. You literally could not ask for a better place. You are in the heart of the old city in the Datong District, right around the corner from the famous Dihua street. Right near you are countless restaurants, amenities, transit, etc.. you are only a 10 minute walk from Taipei Main Station. You're also easily within walking distance of Ximending, (or if you fancy a few more steps) the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall. Otherwise, the city's transit system is incredible and you will have no issue getting wherever you need to go very quickly. Another pro is the price: in terms of getting a private room with a private bathroom in a hostel, I found the price to be very competitive given the area. With that being said, I should note that my understanding is that the private rooms all reside on the 7th floor while the dorms are on the 2nd (along with the reception and main common area). For those of you seeking more privacy, this may be fine. However, I was a bit disappointed that I did not have direct access to the main common area shown in all the pictures. That is something I wish had been made a bit clearer. However, the 7th floor does have its own common area but as far as I could tell hardly anyone ever used it. Note as well that if you are in a private room, the cleaning staff will not come every day. I stayed there 1 week and my designated cleaning day (as made clear upon check-in) was Tuesday. This was fine for me as I generally put the "do not disturb sign" out for the length of my stays, but if you do decide to put the "do not disturb" on your designated cleaning day, they will ignore it and clean your room anyway. The room was very clean and minimalistic. The shower pressure is SUPER strong, so be careful when first turning it on.

Service - friendly. However the first experience was not a warm welcome. Luckily the rest of the staff were very friendly. Rooms - we stayed there twice in two different private rooms. A bit small, but nothing too bad. Cleanliness - clean enough Amenities - no breakfast, but they have shared spaces. They provide slippers and for the private rooms all you need. They also helped us with a taxi in the middle of the night to the airport and that went smoothly. Location - good. 7 min from train or 2 min from bus. Price - very fair

We used We Come as our base for a two week stay in Taiwan. It was perfect for us. Reasonably priced, spotlessly clean and very thoughtfully organised. Comfortable bedroom. Common areas were great. Wi-Fi fast. Friendly staff. Luggage store was a great help - we left our big bag each time we headed off for an overnight stay somewhere. 10 mins walk to main train station.
