Mandarin Oriental Taipei

I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental, Taipei, and I have to say that my expectations were exceeded. From the moment we arrived, we experienced a remarkable level of hospitality and attention to detail throughout our stay. At check-in, I would have preferred the room to be ready by 1:00 p.m., but the wait was made more pleasant by the warm welcome and the traditional tea offered to us. The room was spacious, elegant, and very well laid out, with an exceptionally comfortable bed and generous amenities that were promptly replenished. The housekeeping team was always helpful and attentive, and the room was serviced several times a day. Whenever we needed fresh towels or anything else, our requests were handled quickly and courteously. The attention to detail was truly impressive. Breakfast was also a highlight, with a rich selection of both buffet and à la carte options. The staff were always kind and attentive, and I appreciated the fact that the selection changed from day to day. A very special thank you goes to Executive Chef Luigi Troise, whom I had the pleasure of meeting during our stay. From our first meeting, he was extremely warm, welcoming, and attentive to our preferences. At breakfast, whenever he saw me arriving, he remembered my request and made sure I had the bacon exactly as I liked it. It may seem like a small gesture, but these are the details that make luxury hospitality truly special. He also regularly stopped to ask how our stay was going and was always happy to have a conversation with us. Discovering that Luigi is originally from my own city made the encounter even more meaningful. Being around 9,000 kilometres from home and unexpectedly meeting someone from Naples was a wonderful surprise and made me feel, in a small way, closer to home. His genuine warmth and personal attention made a lasting impression on me, and I am very grateful for the role he played in making our stay so memorable. During our stay, we also dined at several of the hotel's restaurants, including Ya Ge for Chinese cuisine and Bencotto for Italian cuisine. I enjoyed both, but Bencotto particularly stood out and made us want to return several times. A special thank you goes to Karelys, who was always kind, helpful, and smiling. What impressed me most was that she remembered our main preferences perfectly the following day. Her attentive and personal service made our dinners especially enjoyable. I also appreciated the Italian cuisine and the Chef's kindness in stopping by our table several times to say hello and make sure everything was going well. The hotel's facilities were very good overall. The swimming pool is beautiful and certainly an added value, although I was unable to fully enjoy it due to the weather conditions. The pool area could benefit from some additional maintenance, as several tiles, both inside and outside, were damaged or missing. I would also suggest improving the comfort of the individual loungers with better-quality cushions. Overall, the Mandarin Oriental, Taipei is a truly beautiful hotel, housed in a historic building that reflects the elegance and character of the property while combining it with modern technology and comfort. I particularly appreciated this balance between tradition and modernity.

This was my first time visiting Taipei, and my four-night stay at the Mandarin Oriental was nothing short of excellent. From the moment I arrived until the second I left, the staff made me feel completely cherished—it truly felt like being welcomed back home.The personalized service here is unmatched. A special thank you to Bobbie at the door for the incredibly warm welcome, Xavier at reception for his seamless and professional assistance during check-in, and Olivia for the thoughtful goodbye gift that sent me on my way beautifully. They are a true credit to the hotel.My accommodations were spectacular. The room was huge, featuring a completely separate lounge and bedroom, alongside a stunning, spa-style bathroom that offered the ultimate relaxation after a day of exploring.For dining, dinner at Ya Ge was exquisite. Every dish was a masterpiece, matching the high standards of the rest of the property.I highly recommend the Mandarin Oriental, Taipei, and cannot wait to return!

The MO Taipei was my first MO and it will not certainly be my last - on the contrary, I now consider it within my main tier of hotels. The deluxe room was textured, calm, and entirely private. I loved the rain shower, bathtub and gorgeous bed. Additionally, I am pleased the MO provide their rooms with washlets. Coming from Japan, this is a non-negotiable element for where I choose to stay. The entire team were excellent and ensured our stay was carefully prepared for with sustained excellence throughout our 4 nights, especially reconfirming our dietary and requirements during each meal. We experienced a severely delayed flight and the team, specially Jason L, escorted us to our room as soon as we arrived. It turned a stormy start into an effortless welcome. I’d like to thank the below members of the Taipei team for the memorable and outstanding service: Chef Mervan Tekin from MO Doha, whose truly wonderful Turkish evening fully customised to meet our vegan preferences. Perhaps my favourite meal of the entire trip! It was a pleasure to meet Mervan after our meal. Kevin, Ethan, Isaac, and Cecilia of the pool. This was another highlight of my trip.
