Burgary Hotel

No early check before 3 pm so dropped bags off and toured town. We got back after 4 and our bags were in the room, nice. There was no breakfast served but there is a coffee room with snacks that are for the guest use. We used it to get our day backpacks ready for a day out while leaving all our luggage. The front staff was very friendly at all times, very nice. The deluxe queen with king bed room was an okay size but no work table or chair which I found inconvenient. It had a table with dished top and bench seat. There were 3 outlets not in a great location but worked for charging stuff. Large bathroom, view of the city below, back of the hotel which probably made it quiet, room 903. Nice big towels, big bathroom, big bed, TV with several channels with English, nice thick cover which kept us warm even though the room was quite cool. Per recent law no disposable products were provided. Bathroom amenities provided were shampoo and body wash from wall dispensers. You are supposed to turn your key in every time you leave the building and we did. It was a bit of a bother at first but we got used to it and it’s fine. In the Ximending area of Taipei, happening place with many great restos to pick up breakfast, loved it. Also, it was near the main location of the 2025 Taipei lantern festival, real cool. We liked it enough to book it again before we leave Taiwan. We stayed again, same type of room, Deluxe room, King bed. Think they only face the back, both of ours did. This room has a little flat table so could use for work sitting on the bench seat. Also, a power outlet by the bench for working. Both rooms had an odd light feature in the bathroom that we never figured out how to turn off so it was a big night light. The first room had a blind to pull down to make the bedroom darker (between bath and bed) but the second one 1102 didn’t so it was brighter than I liked. No breakfast, we prefer and no problem as many good places around to pick up a local breakfast but they provide make your own drip coffee and have little bagged snacks. Both rooms had fridge, kettle, good wifi, TV with several English channels, some were HBO movie channels. Nice friendly staff and could stay here again as great location, near to Ximending, MRT, Taipei train stations and buses.

4 days 3 night staying near to famous XIMEN walking distance 6min & XiMne station. I booked queen room. Provided bathtub which looks like jugazzi RM300 per night. If your planning to go Jiufen, the public transportation bus just located front hotel, take taipei bus965 if you don't want any change buses & prefer direct route.

1) Room had moldy smell. Lift lobby outside room had moldy smell too. I kept sneezing. 2) Blood (looking) stain on wall 3) There was a lamp in toilet that could not be switched off. Room and toilet were separated by a glass wall thus room was pretty lit during bed time. 4) Counter requested I leave behind my door card when I left the hotel and I could collect my card from the counter when I returned to the hotel each day. There was once I returned at night (around 1 am) and the counter was unmanned. I could understand the staff might need to patrol or go toilet but there was no mobile number for me to contact for prompt assistance. I had to wait at the counter for the staff to return to get my room card. Lucky (or unlucky) the wait for less than 20min. 5) The bath tub was spacious for two but the jacuzzi function was disabled. 6) The double bed was rather small for two person. 7) Late check out (after 12pm) is chargable at TWD600 per hour.
