My daughter and I arrived to this place late on the night of June 30, 2019 from Taichung. We were so tired from almost 3-hour bus ride from Taichung that what we wanted is a good night’s sleep. Our taxi dropped us off to the address we gave him. But, we couldn’t find the hotel. We asked a local and he guided us to the opposite side of the same building where our taxi dropped us. The hotel itself is in the 9th floor. Our check-in was smooth. The room was clean and the bed is comfortable to sleep. In the midst of our sleep, maybe an hour after midnight, I was awakened by a continuous ringing of an alarm and a loud pounding of our hotel door. When I opened it, a hotel staff informed us that we have to go out for there’s a fire going on, he told us to bring our key card. I saw smoke in the hallway. I immediately grabbed my bag containing my wallet, passport and put in my cell phones, closed the door and followed the hotel staff where we follow the line of several guests going up that looks like an emergency stairs. The smoke reached us and the hotel staff gave us wet towels. That moment I felt awed to the service of that hotel staff to the guests. Indeed, he knew what to do, in case like this. We quietly climbed the stairs until we reached the roof top. I felt a temporary relief that we were out and breath a cool air but it was not for long, because the fire smoke was catching us at the rooftop and I fear that we might get suffocated from smoke. For several minutes we waited silently, then we were led to cross to the next building where the elevator is functioning. Some other hotel guests were able to bring with them their luggages but some, like us, were in our sleepwear and hotel slippers. At the street, we waited and watched the fire fighters did their heroic job. We then followed a hotel crew that led us to another hotel where we waited to be checked-in to another hotel available and took our rest. We then found out that the fire broke out from the 7th floor of the building’s residential areas. It was midday when we got information that we can now get our things from the hotel by climbing the stairs until the 9th floor for it has no electricity in the building. But upon reaching 9th floor, the hotel’s electricity is functional. The hotel housekeepers were busy cleaning the already vacated rooms. We opened our room, packed our things and went down by stairs again, still wet from the waters of the firefighters. The experience made me realized to be always ready and calm to whatever circumstances that we might encounter whether travelling or otherwise.

Stayed here for 4 nights. The room is very clean, sheets and towels are changed everyday without asking. The hotel is conveniently located near establishments and Ximen Nightmarket. A very good value for money. Will definitely consider going back should I be back again in Taipei.

We only stayed here during the nights. The rooms are well-maintained as I ask for cleaning everyday. We left our luggage on the first day. There is breakfast at the other hotel nearby (which is their partner hotel) for NTD100 and we are always filled for the day. The elevator is shared with the residents of the building and is not that odor-free but we are there only for a few seconds every ride. Bottled water is also available at the hotel and empty/used containers are replaced every day. Hotel staff is polite and courteous too. I asked for help for the TV channels and when he fixed it, he put it at Game of Thrones, because that was the day season 8 starts.
