Star Hotel

Location is superb as 4 minutes walk to ximending night market, near train station. Hotel little bit dark even the elevator and hallway going to the rooms, food buffet average. Room is small and no mirrors. You have to go to bathroom to put your make up.

Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. It is conveniently located near Ximen Station and the Ximending Night market. You can find places to eat all around you. There's a great breakfast place around the corner which you might have to line up for; there are also a lot of bubble tea places and arcades where you can try your luck at a claw machine. Even though it is located where the night market and station is, it's just far away enough for you to have a quiet night's rest. I know you can take the train from the airport to Taipei station and then transfer to Ximen station (or a 20min walk from Taipei station) to get to the hotel but as we had luggage and arrived late, we just printed out the name and address of our hotel and took a cab. It costed us 1100TWD.

Chose this hotel for the great location- 5 minutes’ walk from Ximen station exit 6. Room is cosy, but comfortable bed and clean bathroom with deep tub (great for tall people). Breakfast selection was small but taste was good. There is the usual western fare of bread and eggs together with asian fare of fried noodles and braised pork with rice. Pairs well with coffee and soya milk available. Front office team is friendly and accommodating. They always greet me no matter whether I am heading out or coming back late at night. Would be great if there could be a mirror added outside the bathroom, a better hair dryer and more channels on TV but not a major concern.
