Wall Street Inn Hotel

Wall St. Inn is well placed amongst the vibrant nightlife of the Pat Pong district. Being situated right in the heart of this fascinating area of Bangkok the hotel is perfectly situated. If you are planning to make the most of Bangkok nightlife, then this hotel is perfect for you. The hotel is situated between the two large roads Silom and Surawong and is just south of the beautiful Lumpini Park. The park is reason enough to stay in this area of Bangkok. The hotel itself is situated a little further back from Surawong Rd and thus in a quiet dead-end street and thankfully not exposed to traffic and people noise. Ensuring a more peaceful night’s sleep. This area is known for the legendary Pat Pong district and its vibrant nightlife with a few small gay soi’s (streets) in the area. Making it a popular area for partying and nightlife entertainment. Pat Pong has a long-standing night market offering tourists affordable goods and opportunities to eat and drink when the night market opens in the evening. There are the legendary Go-Go bars along the two small soi’s that make up the Pat Pong area and despite the abundance of such establishments it’s still very much a family and tourist friendly environment. All interaction with the staff at the hotel were pleasurable and I felt very welcome indeed. I speak some Thai and this as always provides some fun moments when I interact and from the moment, I arrived I felt a lovely friendly connection with the staff. The rooms were a moderate size, comfortable with a functional bathroom and hot shower with good pressure. My room had a view out the front of the street with a building on the other side. This is not an exciting city panorama and sadly no high views of the park or the city. The rooms and the hotel in general do feel a little dated but this I actually prefer. I’m so drawn to old Bangkok and so this for me is very personal. I seek out such places that have the energy and feel of the Bangkok past. If you are seeking a modern boutique hotel experience this location may disappoint. I would say it does have an old retro vibe and that’s a huge appeal. The air conditioning in my room was a touch loud and can take some getting used to. There are tea and coffee provided and enough storage space for your belongings. There is a TV and I am not sure if you are able to access Netflix and YouTube. Important to add this is a mid-range affordable hotel. It does not sell itself as a luxury location and the price reflects that. For the price paid I feel the room and overall service is well aligned. There is a lovely dining area with some fab art, decoration and furniture giving the hotel a little art deco vibe. Great light coming in and the little café or dining small enough to give it that cozy vibe. It thankfully not a huge corporate style hotel. I didn’t eat at the hotel but imagine there is a great range of agreeable food available. There is also a lovely lady offering an in-house massage service. No doubt this is on offer to nonresidents too. I may return for that. I will return to this lovely hotel without a doubt and can recommend it as a wonderful and extremely friendly hotel at an affordable price.

I stayed here with my colleagues on a trip to Thailand. This time, my friend contacted a Thai travel agency and booked the room. There was a bed, a table and a chair, but the room was large. I have booked this Wall Street Inn from Japan a few times, but I was always assigned a small room for the same price. I was only assigned a room without a window once. You can choose your breakfast from the menu. It was more delicious than I expected. This hotel is close to Thaniya, and there are many massage shops and restaurants on the way to the hotel from Surawongse Road. The hotel is located in a cul-de-sac, but it is quiet.

I booked a room in this hotel online at short notice and on arrival I was pleasantly greeted at reception and quickly and efficiently checked in. The Thai receptionist was having problems with the credit card machine being slow and was making jokes about it sleeping in as it was Sunday morning. My room was small, very clean but had almost everything I wanted, there was no room safe, but safes were available at reception. The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning unit worked well. The bathroom was tiny but everything worked as it should have with a good shower with plenty of hot water. The room was supplied with soap, shampoo & conditioner, very clean and fragrant smelling towels. There was a small mini bar which was stocked with a few items and a complimentary sealed bottle of drinking water. I was able to book and pay for a taxi at reception which worked out far cheaper than using the locally available meter taxis with the added advantage that the English speaking receptionist told the driver exactly where I was going to eliminating language problems. The receptionist on checkout, spoke excellent English and used own mobile phone to confirm my next hotel booking for me without charge and the taxi she had booked for me arrived early. I didn’t eat in the hotel this time but I will be staying here again in the future.
