Sleep Lab Hostel

First impressions really good. Free tea, coffee, juice and snacks all day - really nice touch. The beds are comfy and spacious and the breakfast is also nice. There are a few down sides; there are cameras everywhere!! Even in the bedrooms. One house keeping lady is very rude, she turned the a/c off early in the morning then left the door wide open.. I got up to close the door (to not let the heat in) and she laughed at me. We were also packing at 11AM and she turned the light off on us. She also told us to move our bags and tidy our room, even though we were packing to leave!! The toilets are not clean and smell strongly of sewage - not nice :( very rude house keeping but apart from that it was a nice stay.

Impeccable location, just right below Phaya Thai BTS station. When you walk in, you'll feel this chill, modern place filled with the bittersweet aroma of fresh coffee beans. There's a little bar to welcome you, where you can order a fruit juice or choose from a selection of great local draft beers. The place is really narrow though. It's as small as Japanese tiny homes. I wouldn't recommend to people with a big build. Here are a few good things I like about this place: - clean towels & bed - free water at the pantry - friendly receptionists And now the things I don't like: - stairs... our capsule was located at the 4th floor, and each time, we have to climb the narrow flights of stairs... it was a rather tiring experience - no water heater. Everyone has to shower with cold water. - You cannot control the AC. One of the days, we slept in while other roommates got up early and left for the day and someone switched off the air conditioner early. As much as we wanted to stay in, we were smothered in drenching heat until we eventually got out. For the price, it was really worth it. Will I come again? Maybe if I'm short for cash, and I'm feeling really young and adventurous. Otherwise, maybe not.

Location is the only good thing with this place. Initial impression was nice. When we entered we have to remove shoes and wear bedroom slippers. The flooring is marble and so is the stairs. Steep stairs with no elevator. This is a minus point. I almost slipped on the stairs. Carrying luggage up with the narrow and steep stairs. OMG. The bed was just ok. Toilet was out of service and there was only 1 left. Tiny toilet and shower room. A live cockroach in the shower room. Dorm curtain dropped. The male staff kept coming in the female dorm. A lot of people are walking pass the female dorm toilet to go up to their dorm upstairs. As this is the first time we are trying out dormitary, we are not sure if the rest of the places is like this. I was very much disappointed. We couldnt even talk. The staff came up and told us to keep quiet. And that was not even at night. We decided to leave the place and asked for refund for the remaining nights. Spoke to Agoda, they said the owner Charlie doesnt allow it and that we have to speak to him when we got back there. We spoke to him and he denied being the owner. He said he does not have authority for refund. We were already prepared for the no refund. But he gave an unhappy look. Eyebrow raised. I guess when u start complaining, they start to pick on you. The staff kept coming up to check on us picking on small things. Switching off the light. Closing the door. Telling us to keep quiet again and again. We couldnt do anything at all. We left the next day. Never coming back again. Will try the hostel next to it, The Posh Phayathai maybe as it was quite huge and with elevator. Stairs were much more spacious. We are a bunch of hoteliers and we serve our guest like how we want to be treated. And we didnt get that. This place is just atrocious. We didnt like it. Its just our preference and expectation. Thank you for the horrible one night stay.
